As the President and Winemaker at Pug Wine, Peggy just had to have a vanity license plate (pictured above).
Before she had Pug Luv with a heart in it but she sold the car to another pug lover and friend so the car and the license plate would remain in the pug world!
Peggy began noticing that there are a lot of "pug" license plates and she began collecting pictures of as many as she could find.
Peggy says, "I don't intend to put license plates on wine labels, but it is very interesting to find that people are so identified with their pugs that they want to showcase that fact on their cars. It rather validated my reasoning to name my wine company after pugs!"
According to Wikipedia there are 9.7 million vanity license plates in the United States, that's about 3.83% of vehicles!
So are pug lovers more likely to have "pug" license plates than Chihuahua or Cocker Spaniel lovers? It's definitely easier to spell something cute about pugs with limited letters!
